It was a beautiful summer! It’s hard to believe fall is already here and that winter is around the corner. For those of you who are into winter sports, there’s an anticipation for the mountains to be covered in snow once again. While it may be a couple more months away, now is the time to start getting ready, be consistent, and back into routine!
Anytime we take a break from a sport and come back to it, we use muscles that haven’t been used since the last time we did that particular activity. This can almost guarantee soreness and will increase the potential for injury. Waking up those muscles and putting pressure on joints that haven’t been used slows down your progress in getting back into it. Don’t let that happen to you!
This season, get a jump start on using the muscles you haven’t activiated in some time to build up their strength and lubricate the connecting joints. Let your personal trainer know that you’d like to start preparing for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or whatever your winter sport may be. We can train you toward better health and more fun this upcoming season!
