Personal trainers give their heart and soul to a client’s success. There are few things more disheartening that watching a client give less than his/her trainer. We definitely understand that training has to fit into a client’s life and they can only give so much. At the same time, when we work hard for something, we want you to also.
The perfect client takes ownership of his/her results. They understand that they see their trainer for about three hours out of the 128 in a week. A trainer will give the client an amazing workout that will help them burn calories during the workout and continually for up to 48 hours after but it is a client’s responsibility to fit some sort of activity into their days off.
The perfect client provides his/her trainer with a food journal. Trainers recognize that 70-80% of your results come from nutrition. We can have your workouts perfect but if you eat incorrectly, you will not improve. We don’t want to punish you or laugh at you but to teach you. A great personal trainer encourages a client as they teach and hold accountable.
The perfect client isn’t afraid to communicate anything and everything with his/her trainer. We can’t feel what you feel. If something hurts, it does not portray weakness to tell us. It keeps you healthy and injury free. We also don’t know what is happening outside our doors. Feel free to vent to us. If we understand that you have had a rough night’s sleep or that you’re up against a deadline and feeling extra stressed or tired, we can change our workouts accordingly. We love leading you through extra tough routines to fend off aggression or to release the tension left over from a fight you had with your boss. We love spending time stretching and implementing relaxation techniques to help you feel more calm. The list goes on but what happens inside the gym can better what happens in the rest of your life.
We understand that no client is perfect. There are things you can to do to make the experience better and to help us serve you most accurately. We love giving you our heart and soul. It’s why we do what we do.
