Dear 2020,
Boy oh boy what a year it was, yea? You knocked us into a different paradigm of sorts, accelerated our reliance on anything digital, and drew us inward; physically – in our homes – and mentally. Whatever fitness and/or health goals we had, were put to the test without our ZenRock open and having our routine outlet. For many of us, we decided to build our home gym library, perhaps we purchased a big equipment item such as a treadmill or Peloton. We turned to virtual sessions whether it was yoga or strength, we took another look at calisthenics or body weight exercises, and when the weather was right, we knew going outside for any sort of movement was wonderful (particularly here).
That being said, however, there can be something amiss without the face-to-face interaction of a workout buddy, a coach, and a community. Speaking from both spectrums as a trainer and one who trains with others, there is an uplifting energy that arises from in-person activities. I’m not naïve to believe that because of the calendar year everything will change, quite likely our in-person meets will be brief. But in 2021, I hope to see all of you beautiful people more in the studio. Take care & stay healthy.
Yours in strength,
Jonathan
