7-Day Yoga Escape to Costa Rica
If you need to unwind, reconnect with nature, and find your center, then a yoga escape with Petra and Nova of ZenRock Fitness is just what you need. We hosted a yoga adventure in 2014 to Costa Rica and found it so ephemeral we want to open this particular yoga escape to more people. Please join ZenRock Fitness in Costa Rica Winter 2018 for this unforgettable experience filled with opportunities for adventure, food, local culture, environmental education, and plenty of relaxation and rejuvenation. It could be the ideal antidote to those dark, rainy days in the depths of our Seattle winter…

Casa de las Brisas is a beautiful 10,500 square foot home that showcases jungle beauty behind and magnificent ocean views ahead. This 5-level home has unique features including a colorful glass skylight which creates lovely patterns on the wood floors. Drink Costa Rican coffee on the back veranda high above the canopy watching for the colorful plumage of busy exotic birds and keeping an eye out for playful monkeys. Passing through large glass doors on the lower level opens to a manicured yard and an expansive jungle vista. There is an indoor plunge pool accented with a waterfall.
Explore an abundance of fresh and regional Costa Rican foods prepared in delicious homestyle and traditional recipes. Our personal chefs showcase the diversity of healthy organic foods which abound in Costa Rica. The cuisine of this ecologically-oriented Central American country is intensely flavorful yet mild, relying upon the tropical abundance. Vegan, vegetarian, and food allergies/sensitivities are accommodated with advanced notice.
Rainforest Tour in Manuel Antonio National Park
Manuel Antonio National Park is a concentrated habitat of rainforest, beach, and coral reef ecosystems. Sloths, iguanas, and the rare, adorable squirrel monkey call this lush and lively forest home. We walk through this forest to experience the pristine beaches of the National Park. There we snorkel to view the vibrant life below the waves. A hiking trail circumnavigates the small peninsula of Punta Catedral, providing breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Our experienced and bilingual Naturalist guides us through this one mile, easy-access trail through the rainforest. Together, we locate myriad flora and fauna in their natural habitat. Over this 2.5 to 3 hour learning tour, our guide shares with you the diets, habits, and lifestyles of these unique plants and animals. We ask questions, discuss ecosystems, and learn about Costa Rica’s ecotourism model. Maybe your keen eye will spot different species of new world monkeys, catch a glimpse of the the native agutis, and, if you are lucky, encounter the beautiful poison dart frog.
Full Day Waterfall Tour
In this day full of adventure “Off the Beaten Path”, we go where other tours do not. There are ocean and beaches, jungle and waterfalls, and copious swimming holes. Only our Costa Rican hosts know where the grandest beauty exists. We leave from Casa de las Brisas and head south to the most exquisite waterfalls: the highlight of this tour. Each has their own swimming hole, unique environs to explore, and fun diving heights for those who crave challenge. One of our favorite waterfalls has a 20 foot tall natural water slide! Our favorite beach in the area is outlined in caves and palm trees and we cannot wait to revisit it with you.
El Santuario Canopy Adventure
Experience the longest zipline in Central America, high in the canopy at over 4,300 feet. This adventure tour features nearly 2.5 miles of total zipline composed of 11 lines, 14 tree platforms, 3 nature walks, 6 hanging bridges, an exciting and challenging rappel secured by a top and bottom belay, air stairs, mountain, jungle, canopy, and ocean views. This one gets your blood pumping within a calm and safe environment, where you can choose the level of challenge you can handle with Nova and I there to meet and accommodate your needs.
Private Catamaran Dinner Cruise
Spice Farm Tour
Spices, flavors, and scents are the essence of the tropics. Villa Vanilla’s Spice Tour and Gourmet Tasting makes you want to go home and perfect your creme brulee! This 2.5 hour plantation tour showcases and supports the economy of Costa Rica as they introduce you to the post-harvest warehouse where the spices you rely upon to tantalize your dinner party guests are dried, processed and packaged. We even taste “bean to bar” spicy chocolate and take a garden walk through the Epiphyte Trail. Finally, we experience the Flavors of the World Spice Tasting at Villa Vanilla’s stunning Mirador viewpoint. I brought home a cornucopia of gifts for my culinary friends and family!
After 10 years of planning and preparing, Petra and ZenRock Fitness made my dreams of combining my passions for yoga and travel come true. Our first yoga escape together was to Costa Rica in 2015 and it was incredible! I got to see the world through 12 other people’s eyes – their joys, their fears, their connection as a group, while traveling and experiencing the beauty of Costa Rica. To return with a new group of explorers and see it anew energizes me. There is a wonderful healing power to stepping out of our normal hectic routines and slowing to pace where we use less technology and embrace more of nature. Come join us as we discover a new perspective together. Pura Vida!
I am so excited to travel back to Costa Rica with you for our next yoga escape. In February 2018, we will return to this exquisite country to relax and engage our minds and senses. With twice daily yoga practices, Nova and I will challenge you to try deeper poses and connective states through our morning and evening sessions. Yoga practices are blended with adventures that will anchor memories, intuitions, and personal connections for years to come. We are eager to trek through the tropical jungle with you, breathe exquisite scenery, eat delicious local food, and rejuvenate and luxuriate in amazing accommodations.
